Why I am doing this...my WILDFIT story

Before doing The 90 Day challenge, I had gotten to a point in my life where I wasn't sure WTH to eat! This is after 40 years of considering myself very health conscious, a health food cook and foodie.  

At age 10, I declared I was no longer going to eat red meat, much to the dismay of my father.  I was fully vegetarian by age 17 and spent over 20 years thereafter after being vegan.  The result of this was that I struggled continuously with digestive problems. I had a hard time keeping on weight.  I had food cravings.  By the time I was in my mid forties, I learned that I had significant bone loss (yes, full blown osteoporosis) likely due to malnourishment, according to my doctor.  I was shocked because I prided myself on my healthy lifestyle.  I thought I had been eating all the right things!

WILDFIT® - a methodology based on decades of nutritional anthropology, evolutionary and functional medicine - helped me finally understand the ideal human diet. Every animal on Earth has its own diet; a particular way of eating that makes it possible for that animal to function at its absolute best.  The same is true for human beings and the closer we adhere to the evolved human diet, the healthier we are... and this is what I have experienced firsthand living according to WILDFIT® principles.

Though the nutritional information has been invaluable to me and provided answers to life-long questions and confusion about what to eat, I have to say that the most impactful part of WILDFIT® for me was the behavioral psychology aspects that helped me return to a healthy relationship with food and my body.

"Today I finished the 90 Wildfit Challenge. As far as the physical benefits, I’ve released 20 lbs and 28 inches. "I've tried a number of diets throughout my life, all with short lasting success. As I got older, I put on more and more weight and was feeling resigned to being fat and unhealthy for the rest of my life. I was frequently depressed and unhappy. "So what was the biggest achievement from WildFit? Clearly the ability to decide what I eat, when I eat it and how much I eat of it! The self-assertiveness that you Eric Edmeades and the coaches have given me is nothing short of phenomenal. I have the sugar monster in full control and can decide when and what type of sugary food I eat! (different types of fruits and vegetables - which I never considered to be sugary before) I have made major strides to get very distant to dairy which is for me almost unbelievable. Grains are also no longer part of my diet - and bread is big in Germany. I have not craved spirits and wine in a long number of weeks and not a big desire. Do I love my veggie smoothies and juices - yes I have grown very much to like them. When I do juices I take the pulp and mix them with water and it is filling throughout the day while the juice is more of an energy booster. I have released 15 kg and about 4 inches (a little work to do here - that's why I am still in deep spring) yet even so weight loss was the biggest goal it turned out not to be the greatest benefit.
